Experimenting with linocut gave me the opportunity to explore the symmetry and complexity of the inside of the “Jame’a Mosque of Isfahan” in Iran. The mosque was a blueprint for Islamic Architecture in mosques throughout Asia. Engraving the design in a linocut sheet showcases the depth of space of the mosque’s interior. On the right is the second step of the process where I engraved my original sketch.
