Parents often face challenges when bringing their children along for errands, especially in botanic nurseries that are not designed with children in mind.
This project is a colleaboration between Leen Abu-Khadra and Eda Yasmin Asni, as a redesign of floral nurseries in Singapore, however targeted to actively engage children in the plant purchase process.
Through extensive user studies and site visits, key insights were identified regarding existent botanic nurseries that fueled this project's direction:
1- Gardening is a universal activity that connects peo ple of all ages.
2- Navigating a botanic nursery can be stressful due to the complex layout and purchase process.
3- Nurseries lack an enjoyable environment for shop pers, limiting amenities.
To address these challenges, three touchpoints were introduced as segments of this project;
Bunny’s Plant Adventure App: An interactive app that engages children in the plant-find ing process, making learning fun and motivating exploration
Bunny’s Plantable Card: A reward system for kids who actively participate in plant location and learning activities, reinforcing positive engage ment.
Bunny’s Burrow: A cozy resting area where parents and children can relax with a refreshing smoothie. They can learn about composting by contributing waste from their smoothie to a compost bin
With these additions, parent-child bonding as well as child initiative can be endorsed through the plant purchase process, whilst encouraging learning about the . Parents can now focus on shopping, knowing their child is occupied and cultivating an interest in gardening.
